Hunterson Standard Inference, Europe

About Hunterson

Hunterson publishes each weekday what a defined quantity of AI model output actually cost, delivered to a defined standard, bought on the open market by a buyer in London.

Why it exists

AI models are sold by the token, and their prices are posted in public. But the posted price is not always the price paid, and a cheap price that comes slowly, late or not at all is not the same product. So Hunterson buys the product, times it and keeps the receipt, every weekday, under rules published in advance.

Who runs it

Hunterson is run by one person, a sole trader in the United Kingdom, under the pen name Malcolm Hunter. The figures do not ask to be taken on trust: the method is published in full, every record is fingerprinted and timestamped when it is made, and every rule and every change to the rules is public. The method and the record carry the credibility, not the person.

How it is paid for

By its producer. It takes no money from any provider, model maker or venue. The figures are free to use with credit; using them in a contract, a financial product or an index needs a free registration (the licence).

What it is not

It is not investment advice, a recommendation or a forecast. It is a record of what the product cost on the day.
